How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. 1

Upload your HEIC file by dragging it into the box above or clicking to browse. You can convert one image at a time or batch-convert multiple HEIC files at once.

  2. 2

Adjust the JPG quality if needed — higher quality means a larger file, while lower quality produces a smaller, more shareable result. The default setting works well for most uses.

  3. 3

Click Convert and download your JPG file. The entire conversion from HEIC to JPG runs in your browser — your photos never get uploaded to any server, keeping your personal images completely private.

Why use our HEIC to JPG converter?

If you've ever tried to share an iPhone photo and been told the recipient can't open it, you've run into the HEIC compatibility problem. Apple's iPhones and iPads save photos in HEIC format by default because it produces smaller files than JPG, but Windows PCs, older Android devices, many websites, and most email clients still can't display HEIC natively. Our HEIC to JPG converter solves this by transforming your Apple photos into the universally accepted JPG format in seconds. No more asking friends to "change the format" or hunting through phone settings to switch your camera output.

The converter is completely free, requires no signup, and works on any device with a browser — even the same iPhone that took the photos. Since everything processes locally, it's safe for personal and sensitive images alike. Prefer PNG for lossless quality? Try our HEIC to PNG converter instead. You can also compress your converted JPGs to make them even smaller, or resize them to fit specific platform requirements.

What is HEIC?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format on iPhones and iPads running iOS 11 or later. Based on the HEIF standard and typically using HEVC compression, HEIC files are roughly half the size of equivalent JPGs while maintaining the same visual quality. They also support advanced features like Live Photos, depth maps, and HDR data. The downside is limited compatibility — Windows requires a paid codec extension, many web browsers can't display HEIC natively, and most social media platforms don't accept HEIC uploads directly. Converting to JPG trades those advanced features for near-universal compatibility.
